A manipulation is a quick shallow thrust to an appropriate joint.
Not everyone can or should have a manual manipulation, which is why other, softer techniques are available such as use of an activator and mobilization
> Also known as adjustments
>Restricted movement of a joint is a common condition throughout the body that may contribute to pain perception.

> Manipulation of an affected joint may produce an audible popping sound. This sound is the formation of a gas bubble and not the reason to adjust a joint.

> The purpose of manipulative therapy is to promote optimal function of a joint by restoring joint movement, stimulating the nervous system to calm the surrounding muscles and lessen the pain signaling pathway

> An important option in pain relief
